Poll: your next video card upgrade

well, my 8500 is going to last me for a while, so I probably won't be upgrading unless I see a great deal. And unless nvidia gets their drivers together, I won't be choosing them, no loops for me.

I actually just upgraded my wife's PC from a GF2 GTS 32MB to a Radeon 8500 64MB. I'll be doing mine when the 4200 is available. I'm a "tweaker" by nature and she's not so it's always a struggle to convince her to let me do any upgrades to her PC. She's not a hardcore gamer. She'd be just as happy at 800x600x16 as 1600x1200x32. Go figure.

Undecided here

My Radeon 64MB VIVO is still working great for me. I don't play too many games and I really like the Video In so I won't be upgrading for a while. Plus summer is right around the corner and I won't be on the computer as much.

Current --> ATI Radeon 32 DDR, doing a damned fine job

Future --> Radeon 8500 (AIW if the price is below wife radar), but that will be a while, as I;m more then happy with what I have now

Undecided. I have a Matrox G400 MAX at the moment and I was going to buy a GeForce3 Ti200 - now with the speculation of the new Matrox card I'm thinking I might hold back a few months and see what happens. Besides for the games I play I don't really need a new card just yet.

Probably one of the Geforce 4s in the next few months, up from a Geforce 2 Ultra, although if I am to be honest my current card is still coping quite nicely, but I have had it a year now.

Current - G2 ultra

future - waiting on geforce4 4200. As you know its not gonna ship until late May. Nvidia thinks it would
compete with the G3 ti500. And they are right. Since I want the extra pipe and new algorithms,
im gonna wait till then.

I'll wait to see what R300 offers before I do anything. I'll probably upgrade a year from now to a "Fall Refresh" version of the GF4 or the next Radeon. I see no reason to leave ATi at the moment, though.

I currently have an "old" Elsa Gladiac 920 (Geforce 3) running at a Core Clock: 225, Memory Clock: 510

I've told myself to skip this next generation of Nvidia cards, but everytime I tell myself to skip a generation, I go ahead and purchase closest to the newest thing..
I did skip the TNT 2 Ultra, Geforce 2 Ultra, and the Geforce 3 Ti 500 releases, but I dont really consider those a "new generation" of video cards.. just modifications, higher clock speeds, etc.. With my current solution, this may be the time when I actually do skip upgrading to a Geforce 4, and wait for the Geforce 5 or whatever it will be called (Unless I can get a steal on a Geforce 4 Ti 4600)

My upgrade path to the present day:

*Diamond Stealth 3D 2000 (S3 VIRGE) + Diamond Monster 3D 4MB PCI (VOODOO 1)
*Diamond Viper V330 (RIVA 128)
*STB Velocity 4400 (RIVA TNT) + (2) Diamond Monster 3D II 12 MB PCI (VOODOO 2)
*Diamond Viper V770 (RIVA TNT2)
*Asus V6800 Pure (GEFORCE 1)
*Abit Siluro GTS 64 MB (GEFORCE 2)
*Elsa Gladiac 920 (GEFORCE 3)

I'm on a 32MB GeForce2 GTS and I'd like to get a Ti4600 when I don't have to sell a vital organ for one.. maybe 2-3 months they'll come down enough that i can cough up the dough for one.

I am upgrading to an 8500 within the next week. Needed a video card for a second computer, and decided to move my 64MB VIVO to the second computer.

A GF 3 if someone who is getting a GF4 wants to send me their old, worn out, completely out of date Ti500 (Ti200s are fine too!). AND (get this guys) I will PAY for shipping. What a deal, no? 😀
