Azureus sucks. I'm not using that resource hog when there are much simpler clients that do what I want. I use BitTornado. Very simple and I can cap the upload so I can still do other internet tasks at the same time. That's all I really need. Also, I've never really found any client to be faster than another. It's all just a roll of dice on who you get connected to and what their upload happens to be. Using BitTornado I have no problems regularly reaching my download cap (3.2 Mbps).

with a gig of ram letting azureus ues what it wants is no big deal, seeing as thats what you have the ram for, you can cap in azureus and it actually works unlike some other clients, Even when pulling this im able to surf just fine and unless azureus is running more then 4 torrents at the same time the useage isnt bad

Azureus 2.1.0.4.
It uses about 2-3% CPU power and 20-60MB RAM. Why is it a big resource hog?

The new version (2.2.0.0) causes 100% CPU load randomly, so for the time being, I'll stick with the old one.

update to JRE 1.5 and itll fix that CPU issue, it did for me anyway

Thanks, I'll try it.
I only have JRE 1.42 at the moment, I hope that's the problem.

Hrm.... I voted Azureus... and I really LIKE azureus but you guys are getting me all hyped up about ABC. Maybe I'll try it when I get home.

It's spelled "Azureus"

I think most of us don't mind using Azureus even though it's a system resource hog because we have an old system to dedicate to Azureus..

Tried many, went from ABC to PTC to BitComet. I like BitComet the best as it has excellent additional features that are unobstrusive and intuitive to locate.
