A lot of the criticism comes from those who have never watched it or only a few minutes of stuff from YEARS ago, a totally different era, because (heaven forbid) they might actually enjoy it and we couldnt have that because it's just not a "cool" thing to watch.

Best way to describe is a Traveling Entertainment Show filled with Athleticism, Action, Adventure, and Drama. A very profitable one at that. It's the only "athletic" event that never stops. No millionares who work 9 months a year only to turn around and bitch they dont make enough. Yes, we know its scripted. So are your big blockbuster movie's, your hit tv shows, broadway shows, and soap operas. Does that hurt them ? No. Why should it hurt pro wrestling ?

is WWE wrestling fake?

EDIT - stacy who?

Yes it is fake. It is scripted and they are not really trying to cripple or cause other permanent damage to each other.

of course it's fake. it's meant to be that way cuz it's entertainment. if it wasn't, all the wrestlers would be dead or crippled.

Exactly jooksing. Of course it's 'fake' in the sense, but the only reason that the work fake is used is because of the nature of the entertainment. I, as with lots of others, have referred to wrestling as a soap for guys. Girls like that cheating boyfriend, defying death to come back to your lover, pregnant by your boyfriend's uncle kinda stuff. Guys like hot ass chicks and seeing guys they hate or are jealous of get beat the hell up.

Ever hear anyone say that a soap is fake? Nope, they are just acting. And so do wrestlers. It's fun, huh?

The answer really depends on what aspect you are talking about. If you are just talking about the matches themselves, then yes it is fake. They are choreographed and the winner is predetermined. If you are asking if some of the injuries are fake then I would have to say no. Sometime regardless of how well they practice what they are going to do in the ring they still get hurt.

NO IT IS NOT FAKE!!

Yes it is scripted and they aren't trying to kill each other but much of what they do is full force. I challenge anyone on this board to take some of the moves wrestlers take each on every night of there lives year after year. Most people here wouldn't be able to get up out of bed the next morning. This is why I consider wrestlers to be some of the best athletes in the world. Baseball, basketball, football, etc does not even compare.

Another thing that really annoys me is when they see a wrestler bleeding and say how fake it looks. IT'S NOT FAKE. 95% of the time it is real blood. It's called "blading". They have a razor blade hidden to make the cut in their head. WHY? For the entertainment of the fans! Yet wrestlers still get 0% respect from most people.

look at Dusty Rhodes' forehead sometime, it looks like a roadmap of the US.

The outcome is predetermined, but guys getting slammed onto concrete, or hit in the head with a steel chair is not fake! Wrestling is incredibly HIGH IMPACT, and those guys really do take a beating.

That's why so many of them over the years have gotten addicted to painkillers, alcohol, or other drugs, their bodies are so shattered, that its the only thing that keeps them going.

Everybody knows that wrestling is real. How can it be fake?
Just look when Hulk Hogan drops the legdrop, that must freaking hurt.

so fake. Faker than something that is totaly fake.

I mean, I remember watching a match a litttle while ago with hogan vs someone ( rock maybe? ) where the other guyt took hogans belt and was hittting him with the belt buckle. You could plainly see that the blood on hogans face only apeared after hogan hit himself in the face with his own hand. You could also tell it was not real blood ( or I could anyway, as I have seen enough, thank you ).
What kind of ref would let that go on anyway? I swear the ref is all for show anyway. Just call it a male soap opera and be done with it.

Hell yes some of it is high impact, but it is scripted.

Respect for people that cut themselves with razor blades.
