My presidential voting record is thus so far:

2000: Gore
2004: Kerry
2008: Obama
2012: Johnson

I used to absolutely hate George W. Bush, and I still do. I now hate democrats, but this hasn't made me hate republicans much less. I understand whey're they're coming from more than I used to, but I still have enormous issues with them. No way am I voting for any Bush. Ever.

I don't see myself ever voting for a republican or a democrat on a national ticket again. Maybe that Rand Paul guy... I haven't paid that close of attention to his positions on issues, but I had a lot of respect for his father and I respect what he did with the filibuster the other day.

I am sure he's got some views I disagree with but I don't know that I've ever been able to cast a vote without pinching my nose to some degree, so perhaps if he got the nomination I could overlook whatever those are.

Hillary will be 70 years old and Jeb is no different that his brother. Is this really what we have to look forward to?

Really? Are we going to seriously start this early with deciding whether we want to vote between a turd sandwich and a giant douche? Nobody can POSSIBLY envision a candidate or 10 running that are around 35-40 years old and actually good for the country?

Jeb would be a disaster for the Republicans, the "not another Bush" campaign the Democrats would run would be a guaranteed landslide win no matter who they ran against him.

I can!

The "old Republican guard" need to concede they are failures have done nothing but fail for years, that they need to sit down and shut up, let the new guard run with the ball now.

Hillary looks horrible health wise and has had health issues this past year.

I think there is no way she will be running. She is done.

Jeb will be 64 in 2016.

Don't know anything about his state of health but have not heard any issues either.

He said today on Face the Nation that history will be kind looking back on his brother but that it will be horrendous looking at the current administration.

I think he is delusional but the Country is easily brainwashed and loves Dynasty's so that is why I predict he will win in 2016.

I might, but half of the reactions here are evidence enough as to why he would have zero chance in the general.

BUSH BAD BUSH BAD BUSH BAD BUSH BAD ISSUES DON'T MATTER BUSH BAD!!!

^^^^^ The thought process of your average voter. Jeb Bush could be full-on socialist, run as a Democrat, and I'd bet $100 a majority polled would still think he was a Conservative who mipronounces nuclear.

...Except he isn't a Democrat and he doesn't claim to be a socialist nor does he have any such history. Let's look at the facts:

He's a Republican (a political party that favors transferring wealth from the lower classes to the upper class, to the haves and the "have-mores" and that also advocates imposing a Christian version of Sharia law on the United States).

He's from the same very wealthy and powerful family that produced George W. Bush, arguably the worst President in American history.

What reason is there to believe that his political and economic philosophy would be so different from his brother's that a Jeb Bush presidency would not further damage the health of the nation and the American middle class? Even supposing that the talks a good talk, why should Americans even take a chance with him?

I definitely would. I wasn't really familiar with him, but after an interview I saw with him, I was really impressed with him. Definitely looks MUCH more intelligent than that moron brother of his.

LMAO

Back when GHWB was VP, it was thought that the dumbest Bush progeny was son Neil. Y'all probably don't remember Neil & the Silverado S&L scandal, which cost US taxpayers a couple of billion dollars.

Amazing that GHWB actually produced Dumb & Dumber, with W costing taxpayers Billions funding a too damn long and pointless war.

At least GHWB knew enough to get other countries to fork over the dough to help for his war & knew enough to get the hell out.

To answer the OP's question, no way in hell I'd ever vote for Jeb. Didn't vote for his bro or daddy either, ever.

First of all, lol at your characterization of Republicans. I could just as easily say that Democrats are a party that favors taking money from those who earned it and giving it to those who never will, to the gimmie-gimmie leeches, and also focused on bringing various authoritarian and socialist European policies to America, because they think Europe is better than the US.

Fortunately both our characterizations are only accurate if we look at the fringe radicals of either party, so please drop the bullshit.

To be honest I haven't looked into Jeb Bush all that much. He could be even worse than Dubya for all I know. I'm just saying I know plenty of families where siblings are nothing alike, and that logically speaking his family name shouldn't lump him in with George any more than Barack's middle name should make a Muslim. He deserves a fair shot to prove himself, but he won't get that, because the electorate is filled with morons.

In fact, I hope he runs. Because the Democrats will have to come off their morally-superior high horses for a little bit to denigrate him based solely on his last name in front of the nation.

it depends on who he is running against. But in most likely it would be a no.

What, that he won't run or that some Democrats wouldn't put Rush Limbaugh to shame if he did? I agree he's unlikely to run.

waggy and irish - don't pretend for a moment that GWB wasn't as bad as current history knows him....

\keep blaming Democrats of the Democrat party...

Oh I admit that GWB was a horrible president. I just don't see why Jeb should be demonized based solely on bloodline.

He shouldn't, but at the same time it is unavoidable that the two will be compared, in particular since he has now decided to add to the record his opinion of the GWB presidency. I don't expect him to speak ill of his brother, but the ads basically write themselves. Unless people stop blaming the Republicans for the current financial situation, Bush in particular among them, carrying the name of the guy most people blame for this and speaking out in favor of what he did has to be one of the worst situations for someone who wants to run for president to be in.

Alright, next time you're up for promotion and your boss says no on account of your last name, let me know how you feel. :)

If he applied for a job at the same business where his brother had royally f'd up the entire company, do you really think he'd even get an interview? They'd laugh at his gall and throw his application in the trash.

Is this another NO WAY NO HOW WILL MIT ROMNEY LOSE SINCE EVERYBODY HATES OBAMA, AND LIBERALS, AND EVERY POLL HAS OBAMA LOSING BIG TIME, AND NO WAY CAN OBAMA PULL THIS OFF like-thread?
And so soon?
Face it...
Hillary WILL run, Hillary WILL win, so save your sanity not to mention forum reputation by even suggesting any other scenario could be remotely possible come 2016.
And as far as Chris Christie goes, his temper and blood pressure would never survive the ordeal.
He would either implode or explode, hopefully the least gruesome of the two.
He might carry N.J. maybe.... Doubtful, but long shot maybe...
Jeb, Chris, Mitt, Rand, Sarah, Newt, etc etc, nada gonna ever happen in our lifetime.
Not unless they do it by nuking half the country first, then holding an assault weapon to the heads of the each and every surviving voter on election day.
Which Im sure is an idea many of then would entertain.

Can we just ban both parties and the current party structure? That would kick ass.
