I just bit on my first LCD after using 21" CRTs for as long as I can remember. I really didn't need to upgrade, but I thought it would be nice to have a lighter monitor. Anyways, the screen I received has 1 pixel stuck blue near the center of the screen that is visible on black backgrounds. It's not visible otherwise, but it definitely bothers me a bit. I have a feeling my expectations might be a bit high considering the size of the LCD. Would you return it?

My laptop had a stuck pixel when I first got it. It eventually unstuck itself. I think there are things u can do to unstick them.

I tried massaging it to no avail.

If it were me? Hell yes.

However, keep in mind, i went through four Dell 2005fpw's before i got a good one with no stuck pixels and decent backlighting.

They even tried to ship me a refub and claimed it was new (box said refurb, packaging was opened and different, base had a scratch)

Be adamant that they ship you a NEW replacement.

If it's under 21 days, doesn't Dell pick it up for you and send a new one?

Was it an early one? I just got one, my first Dell LCD, and it's perfect..no backlight issues...no stuck or dead pixels..nothing...

Well, you need to consider a couple of things...

First, that monitor at best cost around $800, and at worst, $1200.

Second, if it's within 21 days of purchase, Dell will have the old one picked up at no cost, and replace it at no cost IIRC...

got 1 stuck white pixel on my 2405. Can't even see it more than 3 feet from monitor anyway, so why bother.

I have a single blue stick on my Samsung 26" TV near the centre. I can't say I really notice it much. Personally, for a single pixel, I wouldn't bother.

yes id return it and but a 22in CRT, save like 600$

Good 22 in CRT's are <$200? Not to mention the desk real estate

Well, not to be picky...but assuming you go by the normal cost without coupon codes, the 2405 is $1200...so $600 less would be $600, and yes, that would get you an excellent 22" CRT...
