I'd rather it taste the same, because usually when something tastes "slightly different", that means someone sneezed or pissed or bled or did something else into the food product in question. I don't go for that sort of thing.

I need a few more answers.. I'm arguing with my professor and I don't want to show him a thread with only 4 answers to support my argument.

The same. I know how I like my coffee, and when it tasted different, I know something is wrong with it.

That doesn't include specialty coffees like at Seattle's Best or Jo to Go.

unfortuantely mine varies greatly
one woman in the office makes it like toxic sludge
one guy makes it too weak.
and another woman makes it perfect.
i feel like goldilocks every morning.

Same answer for both. Different. :p

What would your Columbian Supremo say if it found out you were sippin' on a nice Sumatran blend on the side?

Different: good coffee is like good wine; while I definitely enjoy a nice Merlot, the taste of a Cabernet is good at times as well. This goes both for black coffee and espresso.

I roast my own coffee and buy only really good green beans. I don't buy the same type of bean each time, but I do have a preference for coffee from African countries. So I do drink a good variety but don't swing from mild to strong flavors.

I quit drinking coffee in December 2002, but when I drank it, I wanted it absolutely the same. Just like my soft drinks, milk, water, beer and bourbon.
