4X12 here. Its odd though. Its 4 days on 4 days off so you lose weekends sometimes. Then due to the way we get paid you end up with 4 weeks of 36hr (small checks) paychecks then 4 weeks of 48hr (big checks) paychecks. The shifts are 4 to 4 also, except mine which is 7am to 7 pm give or take.

9/80 = 9 hours per day (8 hours on your working friday) with every other friday off. 80 hours per pay period.

4-10s as long as it's 4 in a row so you always get 3 days off. If it's some weird 2-1-2-2 thing or something then it woulnd't be as appealing.

i work as a software developer
we have a trial 9/80 run going on in my company's engineering department

since every person is reponsible for a product ( 9/80's need to be scheduled such that every product is covered (through backup) every friday)

I don't know this thing but I work 12 hours a day, six days a week.

12 hours x 6 days = 72 hours a week.
