Poll: Would you rather work 4-10's or 5-8's?

If it were available would you rather work 4-10's or 5-8's? How about if working 4-10's meant you had to work on the weekends? That's the case where I work, and I was finally able to get the 4-10's. I don't mind working on the weekends because its less busy, I get a little extra per hour, and most places are closed anyhow.
 
i would rather work 4-10's.

i wouldn't mind working weekends except where i work that typically means you work by yourself and it can get pretty busy.
 
The officers in the department I work in have 4-10 shifts. From what I can tell, they like it much more than 5-8.
 
See, most management level or higher people absolutely love it because when they switch from a 5-8 schedule to 4-10's, they still only work 7 hours or less per day anyway, its just an extra day off... especially in cases where there's no one to correct them.

We get 9/80 in the summers. It's awesome.
I would definitely prefer a 4-10. I would consider working on weekends, but I would prefer not to.
 
I work 4-10s also. I like it a lot more than when I had 5-8's. I work Mon, Tue, Thur, Fri. I wish my extra day off could be Monday or Friday so I could have a long weekend every week but it's nice to have Wednesday to go get stuff done that would typically be closed on the weekends.

You mean 80 hours every two weeks?

I'd prefer 4/10s over 5/8s

this schedule sounds pretty ideal to me, theres lots you can get done on that wednesday, plus never work more than 2 days in a row, sounds nice.
 
well since I've started working full time ... I've worked 4x10s, 5x8s and 7x11s (with 7 on 7 off) and my favorite is definatly 4x10s.

with 4x10s, picking up an extra shift for some overtime would still leave you with 2 days off. (I miss my overtime, but I'm salary now, so I don't get it). I also love the three day weekends.

the 7on 7off was great (I worked that shift for about a year (where I work, all of the overnight/graveyard shifts are 7 on 7 off. The 80 hour work weeks kinda sucked, as did being at work from 6pm to 5:30AM ... however, the week off was great for overtime. and for travel.

I don't mind 5x8 hour days since the days tend to go by so quickly and sometimes ... if you want overtime ... some workplaces will let you tack on an extra hour or two to the end of your shift if theres tons of work to do.

EDIT ... currently with my 4 x 10s I work every Sunday,Monday,Tuesday,Wednesday.
I wouldn't care for it if the days off were not all in a row. I also don't like to work on Saturdays. I love having Fridays off, and don't mind working on Sundays.
