I'm running a survey for my business class and would like to know if you would pay to receive articles, video, or sound for a monthly/one-time fee?

What I am trying to get at with the survey questions is if you would be willing to pay for content online in a simular fashion that you do offline. An example of such would be paying a subscription fee for your satelite/cable company or magazine.

Please give your answer in the following format:

1. Would you pay for content? Yes/No

2a. If yes, how many subscriptions do you have?

2b. If no, what would make you want to pay for content?

Thanks.

Dude there is FREE porn out there, do no pay for it. Try a XXX password site. More than enough to keep your HappyMonkey happy.

You should start over and attach a real poll to your thread. Not many people will bother typing something in, but most will be willing to click one of the poll options instead. Put subscription number in another option, like

"Yes, 10 or less subscriptions"
"Yes, 10-20"

etc

You mean like the New York Times website? Well...If it was that important to me or I needed it for my work, then yes, I would.

I would subscribe to Anandtech, but the company they use for billing doesn't work with my credit card for some reason.

It would have to be extremely valuable info at this site which could not be found anywhere else on the net...which is unlikely.

Most of the internet has been and hopefully always will be free to read. I for one have never found a reason to pay even one cent to view anything on the internet. You won't get much good information here, since many Anandtech readers do voluntarilly pay to see the same thing the rest of us see.

Think of it this way: you are sitting at home watching TV and suddenly your favorite channel turns off and there is a message saying that you must pay to view it anymore (in addition to what you already pay the cable/satellite company). No one likes that. I for one wouldn't stand for it.

There are a few exceptions where the information really has personal value to me. For example stock data instantly streamed to someone. I can see that having value and people paying for it. But that works since people already pay hundreds per month for that...

1) Yes - but only for work-related info; no way I'd pay for casual/entertainment info unless it was a serious hobby.
2) 5 - all of these are related to my job.

1) Never

2a) Zero

2b) Someone breaking into my house, drugging me, and using my hands to enter my credit card number while I sit in a puddle of drool in front of my computer, collapsed in a drug-induced stupor.

1.At this time I can think of nothing on the net I would pay to see.

2b.At this time I can think of nothing I would pay to see. Most of the information I need/want is readily available with little trouble.
