i know the idea has been floating around for a while, but let's see what most people think. i'd especially like to hear why anyone thinks post counts should stay visible.

edit: fixed poll answers, hopefully they coincide with what you voted.

yes, it makes people post more even if its bs such as quoting someone else just to boost their post count. Plus don't think their is any difference between member junior members or whatever other names their are.

Our status should be determined by how long we're been a member, not how much we talk.

Now, the problem with that is that we have people who have registered and never, or almost never talk. Should someone be a lifer simply because they've made 10 posts in the last 3 years?

i really think the negative effects of post counts are marginal at best. then again, i could say the same for the positive effects.

Hmm, it's split. Apparently half the members here are ashamed of their post count, while the other half is proud. Not sure if you'd be prouder with a high post count or a low one though..

I'm ashamed of my pitiful post count. I remember when me and skoorb were neck and neck. :(

I tend to agree. I think that if they eliminate post counts people will be more likely to judge people on the quality of their posts and length of time as a member, instead of just their post count.
