would you attend a bi-monthly LAN party that is all day saturday for 5-10 dollars? it would be a 60-100 person event with 2-3 servers running CS, day of defeat, and one that rotates. candy, pop, pizza and other refreshments would be sold. you have to bring your own computer and LAN cables would be provided.

Well, here's how it is:

If your personality is the same kind where you bump your own post 3 times inside of 10 minutes and assuming that's your birthday in your username, I can pretty much say I wouldn't plan on attending.

no. plenty of free LAN parties around here. with drinks (incl. alcohol), food and servers provided. no where near that kind of volume, more like 30 max (typically less than 20). more people than that doesn't appeal to me.

well im not asking if you would come to EVERY single one, i just wanna know if you would attend a few times evercouple of months or so
 
oh, also there would be prizes and torunaments. prizes would be like "survivor" or "killing machine" and stuff like that.
 
well thanks for the input guys. me and a few friends were talkin about starting something like this. any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated
 
Yes and no ....

No because
1. I dont particularly enjoy counterstrike,
2. Most of the big lans I've been to have had power problems ... Make sure you find a place with a lot of power
3. Its a pain in the neck to haul my boxes around
4. I can play most games online with very little lag
5. I already have 1 good and 2 decent Gaming boxes ,as well as a Linux Server and good internet access ... that are all set up and networked.
6. It may be a long drive ... Parking may be a pain in the neck ...

Yes because
1. RTS games are great on Lans
2. Go with a couple good friends and play some good team vs team RTS games
3. Co with geed friends and kick arse in CTF, Team Fortress, or Team DM
4. Lans Are great
5. 5-10 bucks is a good price if all one has to do is pay in advance and then plug in

it wouldnt all be CS(i dont care for cs myself) we would also have day of defeat and a rotating server that plays games by request such as starcraft

 
RTS games are superduper fun to play on a lan... heck.. i had a blast playin with just 4 people c+c generals this weekend

heck yeah they are, you should try medieval total war LAN partys, they are a blast
