Poll: Would you ever lend out your car to a friend?

Friend asked me lst night to borrow my car for an hour, I felt like an ass, but there is no way I'm lending out my car.

yeah, I've let my friends use my car for a few days. Hell, one time my mother drove my friend's truck, although had he known she was driving it he probably would have killed her. (she's notorious for murdering cars and he loves his truck more than anything)

Everyone knows that I would throw a fit if they put a fingernail scratch on the door. They wouldn't dare ask to borrow it...

You guys are way uptight. I would always lend a car to a friend in need, unless he was drunk or had a particularly awful driving record (which none of my friends do). That's what insurance is for!

Some people think their 2001 Honda Civic is such a sensitive, fine-tuned piece of equipment that only they can drive it. If it was a ferrari, porsche, or something like that, i'd understand.

i agree iwth don vito,

i have let a friend drive my truck through 3 states before. I don't really care as long as they don't hit anything, assume responsibility if they do, and leave gas in the tank.

Well, I paid alot of money for my Maxima, and I can't stand the thought of someone smacking it up! The only person who has borrowed my car, besides for GF, is my dad. He can borrow it whenever he needs it.

Right, because no one cares that many insurance companies will tell you to go fvck yourself if your "friend" wrecks your car. 😛

I lent my truck to a friend, and it came back needing a new clutch.

Also, a friend lent his car to me, and I almost destroyed his stereo in a freak Mountain Dew-related accident.

So from now on, the answer is NO.

As long as someone is a licensed driver they are covered while driving my car.

As long as that friend is pretty cool with me and is at least a mediocre driver, I'd let him borrow it. Its what friends are for.

Depends on the friend, but to some good friends, I have lent my car to them, and they've lent their car to me before.

Seriously, If you can't trust your friends to drive your car, then how good
of friends do you really have?

I'm talking FRIENDS. Not Joe Schmoe that you just met or just occasionally hangout with. REAL FRIENDS.
