Poll: Would you buy a Live Christmas tree over the internet?

I dunno.

I'd be interested to know how well it works for them.

It seems to me that going and cutting down the tree is kinda a family ordeal.

Plus.. who is going to pay 40$ shipping on a 25$ tree?

😕

erm.. don't you normally just drive to the "guy with a bunch of trees in the mall parking lot" and give him $5?

We went to Christmas tree farms, or we just went into the woods and cut down a cyprus tree (when we lived in Louisiana).

5$???

Hell, we produce like half the nation's christmas trees, and they're ~20$ here.

They're a lot more expensive than that even in places like Arizona. 😛

yeah, all these country folk have access to fresh trees. us city folk pay at least $35 for one. gotta sample all of them to find the best shape & the strongest needles.

I'm all about artificial. Got my tree from JCPenney on Clearance, free shipping for 85% off. I'll save my money (and the mess) and be fine with maybe a pine wreath for that "pine" smell.

I keep trying to convince my wife that's the way to go. After all, the only live trees I like are Nobels and they're like 2x the price of the others. 🙁 I could buy a nice artificial every friggin year and still save money. Sigh.

I know a guy that farms trees here and sells them in Hawaii for a killing! IF I get one, I cut the thing down myself, $5 for a Noble Fir, can't beat that deal. I'd cut my nuts off before I bought a fake tree.

Artificial for me all the way. You don't get any of the mess or the hassle, and I've got one with fibre optics and it's amazingly beautiful. It doesn't even need decorations at all!

I don't see why anybody would want a real tree - it's wasteful, they're a fire hazard, and they're messy.

If you're enamoured with the smell you can hang some pine sol or use some pine scented spray - it's not a very good reason to buy a real tree.

How would you know how fresh it was if you bought it off the internet. You're supposed to pull slightly on the branches to make sure not too many needles fall off otherwise its not fresh.

I just throw my fake one up every year and don't worry about the hassle of bringing it home or keeping it watered. Hell, I still have to put it up! 🙂
