If it wasn't race or religion, it would be something else, like brunettes vs. blonds, or brown eyed people vs. blue/green eyed people, or tall people vs. short people.

There would always be something else that would serve to differentiate people, and those differences would be used to breed hate between those groups by those who only have hatred and bitterness within them.

So no, I don't think that the world would be a better place if there was only one race.

You mean get rid of the Tour de France and then only have the Daytona 500?

nope, wouldn't be a better place. think about it. the americans are pretty much the same as most other countries, but we hate pretty much everybody.

even if everyone had the same race/cultures/religion, they would still find something to argue about, eye colour, hair, etc. "well those dumb blonds are inferior to the black haired people" etc.

people just don't understand.

So .. the world would be a better place if people would listen, understand, and then react.

We ARE one race the human race.

The fact that arbitrary distinctions are made just proves the point. there can be no ONE race as you've defined it.

It would allow us to get farther in science and stop some of the fighting which is holding us back.

Maybe I'm arguing semantics here, but I believe anthropologists have come to the agreement that there is no such thing as "race," only ethnicity and minor genetic differences between humans which make some people taller, shorter, have darker skin or lighter skin, etc...

The general consensus is that there are no "races," only Homo Sapiens.

You may be totally correct, but "American" is not really a 'race', is it?
