I have an old Sunday Far Side strip that shows a spot reserved in hell for people that drove slow in the left lane. I really need to scan that in someday.

Yeah...good idea..and further more no drivers under 21. Think how much gas that would save. And free up a bunch of parking and a whole lot less morons on the road and...

Depends what your definition of "ricer" is. If you mean huge ass wings, ridiculous exhaust pipes, neons, stripes and all kinds of stupid stickers... "all show, no go" = HELL YES!

Yeah, that's a great idea. Take a 5% of our work force and force them to quit their jobs and move back in with their parents because they can no longer live on their own. That's a fantastic idea, I'm sure it'll be great for the economy

BTW, the reason 21 year olds are better drivers than 16 year olds isn't because they're older. It's because they've had 5 years of experience. A 21 year old who's never driven before is going to be just as dangerous as a 16 year old who's never driven before.

You have a point with the experience thing but I think a 21 year old with 0 years experience would be better than a 16 year old with 0 years experience because let's face it....most of us would do more stupid things when we were 16 than 21....or will....or do...you get it.

Yes, although I'd miss the amusement I get watching a 17 year old in a tricked out Civic pull up next to me at the light and look over at me repeatedly as if I want to race (when I could care less) then having him peel off once the light turns green only to go about 2 blocks before having to stop and we're back at square one again. I just roll up next to them and grin, rev my engine loudly to get them all riled up, and then have them haul off again while I take a turn at the light. Then again, that's not unique to ricers only. A lot of drivers go through that phase (or the Jeep/off-roading phase.) It's just that with ricers it's kind of funny since the cars aren't designed to look and perform like these guys modify them to. It's kind of like wearing one of those t-shirts with the tuxedos painted on the front and expecting people to take you seriously.

As much as I tend to clown on ricers, I understand where they're coming from, and appreciate that many of them take an active approch to driving and pay attention. My biggest problem is the people that go with the attitude of "Driving happens" and "Left lane, all the way". Ditch those people and then you're onto something.

I agree. At least ricers don't burn a ton of fuel, and if you get into an accident with a ricer the bumper doesn't come up over your hood/trunk and into the passenger compartment.....heck, if you get into an accident with a ricer you crumple it up like the tin can that it is.
