I'm not black or white, and no I'm not michael jackson. But the way I see it, they have a BET channel, but no WET, (wait, that's on channel 594-598 DTV ;) ), you know why? I think becuz just about everything else is WET

You're bottom of the barrel on your own actions. There are many over-represented minorities in several fields (Indians, Asians in medicine, engineering) and they get the "shaft" too, yet you never see them complain.

This is something that a lot of people on this board say. Is it really that much worse than being, say, an Asian/Indian male? I'd say that they would be similar in overall benefits/opportunities. This board has a fairly large Asian group and I never see someone saying the same. Or is it a new backlash against affirmative action policies instead?

I would never say anything like this. I'm Indian and I would never say 'Man, I didn't get into med school because I'm an Indian male' (just an example - I was never in medicine). Also, lots of people here & elsewhere complain about black people feeling that they're being held down, but aren't you basically saying the same thing?

Is it REALLY that bad? Honestly, I wouldn't think it would be.

:| You know what ticks ME OFF(first off Im a white guy from the Mid East)... The Asian-American club didn't accept Me (technically I'm from Asia Minor) The Arab club didn't take me in also (And I speak Arabic). I belong nowhere in my university :(

A Caucasion Club (CC) would really be a breath of fresh air.. we would have our mandate Bible (Mein Kapf of Course :) ) Where uniforms and carry Luger's around... :p

But ehh.. not a good idea.. even though in my uni whites are the minority...we are PERCEIVED as the majority and there would be a sense demoralization and some people would be offended. I would rather be in peace and respectful to them. Because even though history is in the past, it does not mean it does not affect us today :)

Did you really go to those clubs and they told you that you couldn't even participate? At my undergrad we had white officers in some of our ethnic clubs. White people participated in the ethnic shows/dances, too.

My english professor (yeah the Hot Asian one :) ) is helping me get into the Asian American Studies Club :) So I'll see where that goes.

That's crazy (about them not having enough room). Something is really wrong there.

Anyways, are you an American born/raised in the ME or are you Middle Eastern? You can't even tell half the time... We had Arabs that people thought were Americans but they had Arab/ME names :)

theres also NAACP, american negro college fund, etc. but, you would never see a white american college fund.

There are German-American, Italian-American, etc. scholarships. Just the other day I saw a fundraiser to bring an Irish student for graduate school here.

Anyways, I would think most scholarship funds or whatever are private and so they can do whatever they want.

at my highschool, we had a Kaukasian Kommunity Klub and they had white club t-shirts. They were pretty cool too. I'm asian.
