I would say Citeron, but that wasnt an option.. The original 2CV was a cute car but hell to drive..
They ahve gotten better though.. if I am right Citeron owns Nissan (or is it Renualt).

nissan is owned by renault though you won't see much overlap except maybe renault using the VQ (the whole reason they bought nissan in the first place)

It is hard to say, the French have not exported a car to the US in a long time. But when they did, Peugeot, especially with the 505, had the worst reputation.
