isn't the famed eclipse/talon engine made by mitsubishi as well?

so far 30,000km on my new Lancer and no problems yet, and I tend to abuse my cars somewhat

lots of anti-ford here.. anyone here actually have em or have owned one? Comments? I'm curious as to how good the Crown Vic is, if the police pack crown vic is any good too. Some people claim that the Crown Vic is better than the Caprice... I liked the Caprice, but I don't have any Ford experience to compare to.

In what context do you answer this? If, from a completely quality-based standpoint, you have to define what "GM," "Ford," "Chrysler," and "VW" are.

If you look at all the brands under those companies above, here's how they'd rank, based on JD Power's latest IQS:

since there is no 'GM' branded vehicle the only assumption is that i'm refering to every car they make. since you have to assume that with GM, it is probable that i am using the same definition for all the other choices


also, that survey shouldn't be called 'initial quality' but 'initial satisfaction' since there are very many subjective things like "makes too much wind noise." someone who is used to driving a lexus is going to think tons more things are wrong in a hyundai than someone who is used to driving a hyundai.

i put GM, although VW ought to get "bonus" points for trying to pass themselves off as well engineered. at least no one has any delusions about GM sucking.

GM makes the best A/C's in the world though, you gotta give them that.

hmm .. my vote goes to VW as they make small ugly cars that are not very reliable.
My second pick would go to Hyundai ... small, ugly, not so reliable
My third pick would be Suzuki .. small, extremely ugly, not sure about the reliabillity
My Fourth Pick would be Kia ... small and ugly
My Fifth pick would be Toyota .. smal and IMO ugly

They really do have some of the worst styling.

I grew up with a lot of GMs (Chevys, Buicks and Cadillacs) and Fords (Fords, Mercurys and Lincolns) and I'll never buy a GM. Ford wouldn't be my first choice, but no way to a GM.

I'd consider buying a Mazda again.
