Simple question, do you still have your wisdom teeth.

Just curious after my latest trip to the dentist on how many people still have their wisdom teeth.

My bottom 2 are coming in and I need to get them taken out but I'm just too busy these days. Maybe in August.

I'm 23 and I don't believe I have any wisdom teeth. My father never got any, but my mom did. I'm hoping I've lucked out and they just aren't waiting to come in later.

They've been coming in for the past few years (I'm 22 now)

They push and hurt for a day or two, and then stop - Is this normal?

Oh well~

I've gotten all mine out (last summer)...

Damn it sucked, because I got an infection in one side, and they had to put in 12 shots of novicane and then cut me open, scraped crap out, and then put medicated gauss in there... was extremely sucky (didn't hurt that bad though)

I had all mine removed during Basic Training in the Army 17+ years ago.

That was a lot of fun... NOT!

I had two removed two days ago. I do not know what all the crying and whining is all about. I was in and out of the office in less then 40 minutes, didn't have to be put to sleep, and went back to work next morning. No pain, just little sore for a day, that's all.

The people that cried and complained about getting them pulled probably had drysockets. I had all four removed at the same time (2 pulled, 2 cut out). I had drysockets in both of the bottom holes. It is safe to say that was one of the most painful experiences of my life.

There was nothing intelligent about my wisdom teeth, they grew in sideways, therefore promptly removed. Also, the dentist/orthodontist who removed them possessed absolutely no wisdom.

Apparently, I was not administered quite large enough of a dose of the anesthesia. I slept through 3 of the 4 extractions, however woke up during the 4th to hear them chirping about what a ah heck this last one was. I could vaguely feel the jerking and the stretching of my face too, along with the prying action. Didn't feel pain at the time, but for the next two weeks I could not open my mouth beyond about 1/2 inch experiencing wonderful quantities of pain.

Just a little note for those who thought they had a bad experience.

My dentist were suprised my wisdom teeth came in so soon. Is it normal to have them in at age 19? They're poking out straight, but not fully out yet. Terrible fevers brought about by their first presence a couple months ago.

I got my top two out when I was 17 and my bottom two out when I was 21.

The top two sucked and was one of the worst experiences ever but the bottom two were easy. Made me learn a valuable lesson, if they don't offer you gas and just local shot tell them to go fvck their self, makes a world of a difference.

I have all 4 and every visit to my dentist is not complete until he urges me to have them removed. :|
