What did you think of this? It had Nicholas Cage. For the record I couldn't finish it - and I enjoyed Freddie Got Fingered.

The movie had the potential to be realistic, but Woo fuc#ed it up. Woo just can't make a movie anyone can believe.

To quote Roger Ebert, "Why can't Hollywood trust minorities to tell their story themselves."

Had it been about the Navajo it could have been good. Rather they gave us a decent premise burried under 230pounds of overacting.

I saw it for free when it sneak previewed on campus. Holy crap what a waste of time - this ranks way down there next to "Down To You"
The funniest (most pathetic) scene is where nicholas cage runs in one direction, aims his gun behind him without looking and fires randomly - all of a sudden 20 japanese soldiers fall down and die.

I used to like John Woo but now I'm thinking I'll just avoid him forever

I remember that scene because that's when i said "BULLSH!T" rather loud in the theater.
Usually my friends and i talk about the good parts of the movie and the underling message of the movie on our way home, but we just agreed it was "THE WORST MOVIE EVER."

The History Channel did a special on it and interviewed the actual Navajo(sp?) code talkers. They said that the movie was almost pure hollywood and hardly told their story at all.

I rented it, but I read the last thread you started about how bad it was and could not put myself through watching it. Returned unwatched.

I'm glad my efforts were not in vain. This may be the last thread on it, but I hope soon that everyone in the world knows how bad it is first.

It had a good theme, but the acting was terrible and it was a war movie wanna be.

I didn't even have to watch the History Channel special to know that :D That was pure Hollywood finding a way to blow stuff up film.

You can usually tell if a movie is going to be good or not based on the date it is released. Windtalkers had a crappy release date.
