media 7 is basically 6.4 with a whole crap load of skin and user inetrface... i have 7 with a whole crapload of codecs, then i get my trusty media 6.4 icons and go re-associate my mpeg/mpg/avi/asf files to the mplayer2.exe file and change the icons for the old skool look = ) that way i have 6.4 speed and interface, but can also use the playlist option on media 7 for multipart movies and such
My friend just installed Windows media player 7 and all his mp3s sounded choppy and very slow. He's got a P3 700 w/128mb ram too. He uninstalled it and they sounded perfect.
6.4 for me as well. 7 does not even work right. When you hit ALT 3 to double the size it doesn't do it until you stretch the player itself where as 6.4 just did it.
well, I have media player 7, but I use the classic panel, so it looks like the old stuff without a load of crap, but anyway I'm only using it to watch movies and streaming videos(NASA TV), I use Winamp for all my audio files..
WIMP 7 is part of the next generation of bloated, unreliable and slow pieces of software. WIMP 8 will be even worse, so brace yourself
I use WinAmp for audio and video files, although I sometimes use MediaPlayer 6.4 for video. I tried to run WIMP 7, but it really sucks. After three days, WIMP 7 got uninstalled.
