will you work at a job that pays more than most other corportations in the same field, has good benefits, and fairly quick bumps in pay

BUT

the employees get little or no recognition for a job well done and little respect from management and the chances for a promotion are fairly low

Well that describes Law Enforcement to a 'T', so yes.

nope, but I also have a job that I like. if I were unemployed, it'd be a different story.

if management has no respect for the employees, you have no job security. as soon as they figure out how to train an Indian to do your high-paying job for less than a fourth of the money, consider your arse fired.

Yes, because only Indians are capable of this outsourcing feat.

Might as well. In many ways money is your congratulations on a job well done and the fact that you've not been fired.

Dell tech support is proof that capable and "do you understand the words coming out of my mouth" are 2 totally different things

Don't ever join a company with a reputation for bad management. I did that and I suffer every day because of it. Don't have that "maybe things will be different for me" attitude. Chances are they won't and you'll get frustrated and depressed. Look elsewhere.
