This poll, or rather, its topic, is highly consequential. What's happening with Manafort right now is down page in the media due to the hurricane, and Fox News is pretending that today's big story is some women "standing up for Kavanaugh."
I think we're reaching some kind of tipping point with the Mueller probe, where something big is going to happen. But I'm not sure exactly what.
So Manafort pleads guilty to a metric shit-ton of crimes and is fully cooperating with Mueller on all topics. Manafort is at the hub of everything that was going on between Trump's campaign and the Russian government. For Crissakes, Manafort's business partner was a former agent with the same Russian intelligence agency that hacked the DNC and Podesta e-mails. There's no doubt that Manafort can damage Trump badly, by implicating members of his family, and possibly Trump himself.
So does Trump pardon him now in order to invalidate the agreement and render further cooperation pointless?
Two problems for Trump. First, Manafort may still face state law charges and hence could continue cooperating even after a federal pardon. Second, Manafort has likely already provided Mueller with substantial information over at least 4 days now.
Next question. What happens after a pardon?
