Hasn't Alaska tried, or at least there were groups that wanted to break away from the states?

You know we do have our own power grid 😀, the second most used port in the country, a lot of cheap labor 😉 and enough land to parce out one acre per human. So, I say, we should go for it.

Uh...Texas wasn't founded when the Constitution was drafted.

You forgot to mention Texas Instruments, NASA, and Nolan Ryan.

Maybe Bush could be the president once he doesn't get re-elected. Sorry, bad joke.

We'd take him back.

You couldn't have said it better. This is the exact rational why texas and all texans should be expatriated from the union. 🙂

Truth != rationale. We're too damn good to be associated with a sorry ass state like IL 😉

As a Canadian I fully endorse adding Texas to our confederation as a province if/when they become expatriated. Then us Canucks would have somewhere warm to go in the winter, along with large quantities of chili and duels to the death at sundown 🙂

Duels have been outlawed. People kept on missing and ended up shooting the cattle. Having a huge herd of angry bulls peppered with bullets isn't going to be fun for you 🙂

We have counties largest than most NE states. 🙂 Texas rules.

We have our own power grid. We have our own oil. We have our own agriculture. AMD is HQ's here.

For all we care, the rest of you who sh!t on Texas can starve in frigid darkness in your rolling blackouts.

Pfft...I scoff at your power system. The Eastern Interconnect power grid is bigger than the Texas grid. Isn't everything supposed to be bigger in Texas?

texas can, at any time, break into 5 states. which would be 10 senators from texases. california's worst nightmare

Yours serves a couple different states. And Canada of all places. ERCOT serves one.

Apparently there is a clause in the US constitution that allows Texas to leave the union at their own discretion. Maybe they'll join Canadian confederation *😱*, or *gasp* Mexico. Maybe they can team up with Quebec and make a new country.

why with the gasp?

What makes you think Texas wouldn't just annex Canada?
