I dont know if I am the best person to answer this question, but just relax, and let it happen as naturally as possible.

For example: when you are talking to her casually steer the conversation to the movies, and then ask her if there are any movies in theatres that she has really been wanting to see. Then, after she names something, ask her if you can take her to see it this weekend...

Of course the movie thing may not be the best, but just try to make it as natural as possible. Its nice for both of you if its not awkward, believe me.
