If you crash, it's going to be due to overheating. What kind of temperatures are you getting? There's really no way of determining whether or not you'll crash by just knowing that you don't use any goop.

That's the prob...i have NO temp gauge...as u can tell i'm pretty confident w/my system right now. Just having a bit of fun with the whole no goup thing-some people really go nuts just cause i don't have goup. I have an 80mm fan in the front, good fan in the pwr supply w/vents on the bottom to vent out CPU heat, as well as a BIG almost-alpha sized HS w/2 nice big fans on it.

I think that if you decide that you want to continue without thermal compound, we should trade processors. Don't like seeing a nice CPU go through this kind of unwarranted abuse.

You should be experiencing some instability. So yes, I suppose you will freeze soon.

BTW, you on crack?

I had an Slot A 750 Athlon on a FIC SD-11. Ran great at 900 mghtz. But of course I was smart enough to use thermal compound.

Athlon 850 @ 1028 1/3 L2 1.95 volts
Abit KA7
128 megs Mushkin Rev.2 PC-133 running cas2 at 144 mhtz.
Ninja Micros FreeSpeed Pro goldfinger
GlobalWin FKK32 Heatsink/Fans

Well maybe you have a perfect CPU and Heatsink surface that is making good contact. The only reason for the goop is to help fill voids. I'm sure this is the case. What I'm not sure about is why no one has put you in the loony bin yet !!!!!!!!!

Man, I'm gonna be cool like you and run my processor without goop too!

We can start the OWNG (Overclockers With No Goop) club and spread the No Goop mania!

Down with goop! Down with goop!
(say it with me now people!)
