I think travesty might be a strong word. Kurt Cobain is a legend, just not for playing the guitar.

Paul is a GREAT bass/guitar player. Especially the bass. His creativity is (was) hard to rival outside of the Les Claypools of the world.

Go listen to Rain or Hey Bulldog. Everytime I listen to those songs, I wonder how the hell he came up with the bass lines for them.

Sure, but George was a badass on guitar. I have always felt he was one of the most underapprecaited lead guitar players.

Hendrix played a right-handed guitar strung backwards. It wasn't just a right-handed guitar, strung for a righty flipped upside down.

I love George. He was totally under-appreciated, especially as a songwriter. Still he really blossomed on Abbey Road with "Something" and "Here Comes the Sun". I have the "Hard Days Night" DVD and on it George Martin apologizes for not encouraging George to write more songs.
