In recent reviews Ati kicked some Ass in picture quality mostly, but also speed, but Ati has only 1 good chipset available the Radeon, but in the future there is going to be the Radeon pro at 460 Mhz (that's some serious competiton to Nvidia) and i haven't heard anything about a new graphic card from them (exept for the GF2 Ultra). SO what are you going to buy next NVIDIA or ATI (which is made in canada, so much better than the crap they make in Taiwan, just kidding).
I did not include Vodoo because i don't think a lot of people would buy the HUGE V56000 card wich i believe is still slover than Ultra.

<< "Radeon is indeed up there with the top crop when it comes to 32-bit performance and the chip comes with a wealth of new 3D features. Additionally you get the best integrated video,DVD and HDTV solution that money can buy right now. What is NVIDIA supposed to say? 16-bit color is more important than 32-bit color? I don't think so, since it was NVIDIA who told us how important 32-bit color is back in 1999 when 3dfx's Voodoo3 was unable to support that..." >>

IF ATI could just get decent WIn2000 drivers out I would be all over it. Comparable performance ot Nvidia, with a lot of great VIVO and Tv features that nvidia cannot touch. But until then, I'll stick with Nvidia

I'd like to support the Canadian company seeing that I'm Canadian, and their headquarters is literally 5 minutes from my house. But like the guy above me said, as soon as they whip up their driver support (especially for Win2K), I'll buy a Radeon or a variant of the Radeon.

I've used ATI in the past, and before 3D they were great with their Mach 64 line. But I also had a Rage Pro which actually decelerated 3D graphics over software rendering. Also, the drivers just sucked...so that experience really tarnished my perception of them.
