Much more power hungry, platform requires a new motherboard unless you bought an nF4 IE board within the past few days, which themselves carry quite a premium, and it's pretty well accepted that AMD has pulled off another coup in terms of performance. Why wouldn't you buy?

How about an XPS Gen 5, which is supposed to house a PXE and a 955X? I think the only revenue Intel will receive is from OEM's. DIY motherboard manufacturers stand to lose a lot, me thinks.

first off i would never buy an intel board
then all of these new intel chipsets are quiet expensive for what you get, over priced really
i'd probably get an nvidia sli chipset IF i wanted an intel board

How about a Dell Precision 380? "Maximum Versatility" for $1350 to upgrade to the PXE alone. Yeah!!!

Chances are that I will end up getting a 945 or 955 chipset motherboard near the end of this year, as I will be do for my next loaner chip and it will most likely be a dual core.

On these forums, i doubt you'll find 20 people that would even consider buying that platform

Yeah, the poll will not look so good for Intel but the average PC buyer will scarf up the dualcore D through Dell LOL

I am not buying anything until a game comes along that my current PC can't handle.

Speak of the devil...the Dimension XPS Gen 5 and 9100 just came out. The XPS is on Dell's homepage, put if you go to any division (Home/Home Office), there's no option for it (they've been paper launching this POS for almost a month now). The 9100 w/ the PD seems reasonably priced, but you're still losing performance yet gaining power consumption.
