Just wondering how common these things are nowadays, and how many ppl actually use them...

I personally have a Handspring Visor... dont really have much use for it, but got it as a gift so I am not complaining... I wouldnt have bought it myself though... 🙂

Oh also, if you have one, please state which PDA you have...

BTW, anyone have any cool/useful Palm software to recommend so I can use my Visor a bit more? 🙂

Actually I have that one installed already (and you're right, it's GREAT bathroom reading 🙂 )...

I have stuff like local movie times from Yahoo downloaded to my PDA as well... also local weather...

Thanks for suggesting though!

<< i have an ipaq, and i use it every day for scheduling and tasks. >>

Man the iPaq is NICE! We have one at work and it's awesome! The screen is just gorgeous...

I've got a very nice (one of the best values at the low end of the PalmOS spectrum) Sony Clie PEG-S320 (the S360 is the same, except it has more memory. 8MB vs 16MB). Jog dial, memory stick support, one of the best backlights on a non color PalmOS device, nice screen for a monochrome, rechargable batteries..all for around $200. Nice deal 🙂

I use it to keep track of my homework, my class schedule, when I have doctors appointments, do some unit conversions, my time sheet for work, Jot down quick notes about call numbers in the library, store phone numbers of people I call most of the time, play some games during class ( 🙂 ), as well as downloading the days news onto my device with AvantGo every morning. It saves on newspaper prices 😉

So, yes...I would say I use it 🙂

I used to have a Visor Deluxe, but I replaced it with the Clie in January.

i have the Palm m100 (yeah, I know it's cheapo but I got it for free 😀)
I use it everyday!
To keep track of my work, schedules, write down notes and memos, keep all my contacts, phone numbers and addresses etc.
Also I put a nice doc reader on it and now I read tons of ebooks ... it is really nice because I always take it with me and if I have to wait somewhere I just turn on my palm and continue reading some book.

I sure wish I had gotten in on the iPAQ 3635 deal around christmas but as it is I will wait a few months and pobably upgrade to an iPAQ or the HP PDA .... 'cause Pocket PC looks so much nicer 😀

Before I got it I wouldn't have thought I would use it so much but now it is like my second brain.

PS: I wish the m100 had 8MB of RAM cause 2MB are just not enough to use AvantGO and such. Also it would be nice to have the TV-schedule on the Palm ...

I have the Palm m105 right now. I've owned a few of the Ipaqs and Clies but they were overkill for me so I decided to go with a lower end Palm. I mainly use it for contacts, calendar, and AvantGo.

Palm M515 here, even have Anandtech on my Avantgo channels...

Wife-Ipaq 36XX
12 year old daughter Handspring Visor Deluxe
9 year old daughter Handspring Visor

We beam each other nearly daily.

Just gave a Visor Deluxe to one of our lawyers.

Palm 3xe.... Use it to keep track of my weekends 😛
Serves as a backup for my nokia phonebook.
Use it to send SMS messages and emails.
Some silly games i get from my friends....
and generally a place for me to put down ideas whenever i think of something that i wanna remember.

where do you guys get your ebooks from anyway? Last time i checked, they're mostly not free.
ANd the cheapskate in me refuses to pay for an ebook. 🙂

I've got a Jornada 548....love it!

I've got a Kyocera 6035 Palm Phone coming.....I use Sprint and have the Wireless Web option now and have connection kits for my Lappy and the Jornada.

My wife has a Casio PV400+

AvantGo is great!

I have an m125. Its great and I use it all the time. AvantGo... I download games for it, like Galax a space invaders like game- it rocks!!! I wish I could've got the m130 for the color screen and if I get someone to buy both of my m125s I'll get one....HINT!

I don't have one. For my school I use a diary that is issued to all students (well we pay for it) and I use that for my tasks.

Form e a PDA wouldn't be used. I have very portable laptop when I am in college and such. But don't need one. I have a T68 that does appointments and sechudling and all the contacts that I ever want......

I bought a Handspring Visor Deluxe graphite for $50 shipped from Staples after rebate, used it for a month now it's collecting dust.

Then I bought a Sony Clie PEG-S320 for $119 from CC after rebate, used it for a month and now it's collecting dust.

If I could surf the net from a Pocket PC anywhere in the city with WiFi then I'd buy the biggest and baddest Pocket PC and actually use it (shocking I know).

Why the heck would your 12 & 9 yr old daughters need a PDA??? :Q

My 10-year-old sister wanted an iPAQ loaded with at least 256MB memory (like mine) so that she can play MP3, games, movies, etc. on her way to school and show off to her friends.

PDA features? Who cares. 🙂 She got an agenda.
