Bin Laden and the Taliban are one in the same, reports are he is the commander of their armed forces (although it isn't making our news, Russia condemed his appoint to commander and cheif of armed forces on Aug 30 2001).

So Bin Laden, Taliban, Saddam probably had a hand in it too, maybe some other places, Eygpt was trying to cover its arse earlier, so who knows.

in fact, it could be that he is attacking the talaben right now, as strange as that sounds, because they assassinated one of his close friends, the leader of the revolt. It is really strange, but the taleban may be both protectin Bin Laden and fighting him at the same time!

AraonP, as I said, according to Russia and Pakistan(Taliban supporters, well, maybe not anymore), said Bin Laden was appointed to Commander and Cheif of Armed Forces. Russia condemed the move because they believe, islamic fundamentalists are the worlds true enemy as they have been trying to fight them off in parts of asia.

I believe the story to be true. It originated out of Pakistan, Pakistan provides the vast majority of food, goods, weaponry and ammo to the Taliban, so they WOULD know. And Russia condeming the move, makes it all the more credible... So yes they are one in the same IMHO.

Why not? We feasibly have the power and most of the world behind us. Whatever countries that were involved will likely be invaded.

If you attacked countries such as these then the world would not be behind you at all. Everybody want to see the perpertrators brought to a swift justice, but only those that are guilty. Only idiots want to start a pointless holocaust and probably plunge the world into chaos

There isn't much chance of that. Why would American nutcases even care about taking out the World Trade Center? I think that most domestic radicals aren't interested in striking a blow against symbols of "American Capitalist Imperialism". Far more likely targets would be federal government buildings (FBI/DOJ/IRS/Federal Reserve). I certainly doesn't seem plausible that there was a large group of American nutcases willing to die for such a gesture working together in perfect secrecy.
