I take my shoes/boots off once i get into the apartment. Especially now in the winter, with the snow and all i'd just get the carpet wet.

Depends. If my feet are cold, then old-man slippers. Sometimes sandals, sometimes just socks, and sometimes barefoot.

My mom goes crazy if we dont wear slippers on the tiled floors in the kitchen and such because she claims we will track dirt onto the carpet if we go barefoot.

I got used to wearing birkenstocks 100% of the time in Tucson. I can't go back to shoes now.
