if you don't have a cell phone, what's your reason and how old are you?

Mid twenties, and I have never had a need for a cell phone.

I am not one of those people who just refuses to get a cell phone.
I just have never actually had the need for a cell phone, and I am
not one of those people gets one just because. If I ever have the
need for one, I'll get one, its just that time hasn't arisen.

I wouldn' have one if my company hadn't given me one so they can bug me at their convenience.

They're kinda nice to have, but I just don't use/need them that much.

only adult i know that does not have a cell phone is my step-mother. she refuses to get one.

My wife and I both have one and it has really helped our communication with each other among other things. Our landline is pretty much a fax line right now.

Seems like a lot of people have them today. However, more and more wireless stores are popping up so it shows that a lot of people don't have em.

I have one that my company gives me for work, i only using it during work. My wife and I don't have one for personal use. They are too expensive, especially because my wife is too chatty.

My S/O and I have had them and are reluctant to have another. We will have one when we
take an extended vacation. Right now we are considering long range walkie-talkie's,
thats what we call em', to use while hiking and swap-meeting. Only to give us freedom of movement from each other.

She teaches 9th grade and they are a PITA in the classroom. Lots of hurt feelings when they get taken away.

We are almost as old as dirt........

I'm 20 and have one but only for emergencies but I don't use it. I hate being available "all the time". My mother insists on me having one. Even my 76 year old grandfather has a cellphone which he uses it more than I do to talk to friends and in case of emergencies when he goes fishing.

I had one years ago but never used it. That was when 100 minute plans were standard and I used about 23 of them per month on average. I hated carying it around because when I'm gone, I am GONE. If I didn't call you to let you know where I was going to be, then I don't want you knowing where I am. Besides, everyone else has one so if I really need to make a call, I can just borrow someone else's. I hate phones.

I don't. I had one for 7 years, and decided that the $42 a month could be used elsewhere. Guess what? I don't miss it!

I've had one since 2000. I've used Cingular and Sprint and now use T-Mobile with a Sony Ericsson T610 phone.

T-Mobile is great, Cingular was okay, and Sprint simply sucked.

I don't have a cellular phone. I used to have a pager when those were popular, and I hated it because sometimes I don't want to be reached.

I don't because I really don't like them, but recently it would have been convienent to have one, the thought (however dirty it might be) has entered my mind but I am still resisting the siren call of evil that is cellular phones

Yes I have one. In fact that's all I have. Got rid of my land line in December. One of the local providers has an unlimited calling plan so it's not any more expensive then having a land line.
