POLL: which would you rather have?

now since it is summer and i have some time on my hands i decided that i would back up my dvd collection (i came to this conclusion after losing about 5 dvds from scratches). i was wondering if you guys prefer a FULL copy of the dvd with menus and all @ 50% of the orignal quality or JUST the movie @ 80% of the quality???

i'd keep the menu's. mainly because i tend to use the chapter menu. my mom always dozes off and takes a couple of days to watch a movie 😉

but i don't keep them at full quality.. i put it down as low as it'll go.... and take out the useless audio tracks i don't need.

2 fatty slices of French Toast topped with blueberry syrup and a fatty ol glass of ice cold milk to wash it down, thats what I would rather have 😉

I would use DVDShrink which is free and keep the menus at as highly compressed as possible and the movie less compressed. This is to keep the movie almost the same with the same functionality. You get to keep scene access etc. Compress all non movie parts at 10. If you cut out extra audio tracks you can save on space too. Most people don't need a French DTS track.

This is what I do with DVDs: Insert > Play movie.

I don't use subtitles, don't watch extra features, and don't skip forward to the middle of the movie and stat playing from there.

Some of those menus really suck, making you wait as a mini movie is displayed before they come up. I hate them.

I just want a simple damn menu, if one is even needed...

IQ but i would strip out extras except AC-3 and DTS english audio tracks

all special features including behind the scenes and crap like that and get 70% of original quality + menus

though using DVD-X copy and going the 2 disc method and a dvd changer would be the preferred way for me
