I should also note that I wouldnt be paying for either of these. I currently have a digital camera that serves my needs (HP 735, 3.2mp 3xopt zoom) but I am using an old dell 15" crt.

Going by that, I'd go with a monitor. Just not that one. I don't care what gizmos and doodads it has on it, a 17" LCD isn't worth $800+.

again...I wouldnt be paying for it. The good folks at Amana/Maytag/Jennair are. And that is the only decent LCD I have to pick from.

eh, that monitor is no good...get the samsung 19" 🙂 I don't like the rebel body... just spring for a 10D 😛 or d60.

I already have a good 21" monitor, but I'd go for another good camera.
