Airflow is a constantly evolving from system to system.
There is no one way fits all.
For example you may have real nice airflow but a dead spot where the memory is located as was my case. Thus I had to mount a fan inside my case to move the air away from my memory.

Also the number of harddrives will determine if you need a front fan blowing towards the rear....hardrives are a heat source...

Then you need to understand that PSU`s usually pull the air out of the case through the PSU.......which is why most people I know of do not use to top mounted fan....

I also personally do not use a side fan iether because I have a 120mm fan on my heatsink and a 120 mm sucking air out the back of my case...

Its all very subjective...
Some PC`s stay cooler using negative airflow while other stay cooler with positive airflow...

A lot of experimenting must take place...we still haven`t even toucjed over clocking .....lol

Usually 1, but 3 may be preferable depending on how your video card's fan is configured.

Blowhole fans on top usually do best directing air out of the case (warm air rises), rather than down into it. Most ATX systems follow a roughly front-to-back airflow.

Generally, way 1 is best, with way 4 isn't a bad alternative. Way 3 has a couple problems, first being the negative air pressure inside the case (starving the PSU and CPU fan for air) and also blowing the cool air at the bottom out.

I tend to use way 4 at the moment. The air around the top of my case is cool enough to benefit temperatures moreso by drawing air in than exhausting it out. This is in a NZXT Lexa, which also has a 120mm sidefan blowing in - though I'm unsure about the effectiveness of this.

Warm Air Rises unless otherwise moved.

Way 1 (my pick): Warm air is either expelled out the back or up top

Way 2: Cooler Air is brought it, mixed with the warm air inside and spread out the top. This leaves the hot air inside the machine longer, and leaves it vulnerable to overheating if the outside temperature is too high,

Way 3: Hot air is expelled downward, where it simply rises back up, reheating the machine.

Way 4: Rising hot air is forced downward, creating a core of heat at the center of the machine. This also leaves the machine culnerable to overheating by hot ambient temeprature.

Way 5: Same as Way 3, not to mention air coming out the front of the machine could be annoying.

Way 6: Same as 3 and 4

Way 7: A core of hot air is pushed downward, where it reheats the machine.

way 1 has the best flow. would add 1 more 120mm fan in the front for 2 arrows in the front however.

AHHH thats the armor. i have that case with h2o cooling. 120x2 radiator in the front pushing air in. 120x1 radiator in the back as a quick heat exhcnager b4 it hits my video.

no fan in the bottom and no fan at top. < my 750 silencer wouldnt fit with fan)

The top is completely open so use airflow and pressure to push out the air.

Also, I HIGHLY RECOMEND THE UPGRADED SIDE PANNEL TO THAT CASE. IT HAS A 250MM fan that pushes quite a bit of air to your MOBO. Its also actually correct on its db lvl this time. 19db, it sounds pretty dayam close to it.

35.99 at newegg. The side pannel to the kandolf and armor are identical incase your wondering.

First way. Although you should watch out for the dust getting sucked up by the bottom fan.

Voted 1 but that bottom fan is a bit pointless imo - how you going to get much airflow with that much clearance, especially if you put the case on something squishy like a carpet. Much better to have either a second front fan or a side fan.

Bah i thought u were another armor owner. :p

you really should concider it tho, i have yet to see an armor owner complain about that case. Well maybe the bay doors, but you can always remove them if you think there that ricey.

Oh, sorry - I didn't catch that. It isn't obvious from the pics that it's a side fan ;)
