I'm studying abroad at a university in Asia.. hopefully I can meet the right people and have a good time.. something I've been lacking the past 5 years but that's another story
They offer two residence halls
One is a NEWLY built housing just for international students and faculty. It is suite style and the building it big... it houses around 300 men and women. It has a semi private bath in each suite so no sharing with the whole floor (they offer all kinds of floor plans)
The other is an old dormitory that has community shared bathroom, it is coed and houses 84 students. They waive the cost if I live here... I think it's about $700
for four months but I get to stay here for free (I'll be in a standard triple)
The new one I talked about, I'm not sure how much it costs for the semester but I have to pay the DIFFERENCE. So whatever the cost is.. subtract 700 from it, and that's what I have to pay.
I think it is double the cost of the old one...so i'll probably pay 700 out of my pocket to stay at the new residence hall for the semester.
What do you guys think?
I really don't care about privacy.. as long as I get along with my roommates. I also want to meet people to hang out with.
I lived in the dorms during my freshman year in college but didn't take advantage of it.
I really don't want a single or a double.. I'm afraid I might be a loner or something
I'm thinking a triple at least.. or a quintuple. (the larger the size, the cheaper the cost) but it might work out for me as it would provide a better chance to meet people
I'm a guy so I'm not really picky where I live... I've lived in worse places so I'm used to it but I don't want to miss out on a better experience
Also, what floor plan would best suit me? Double is too boring (I've lived in a double since my freshman year).. triple or quintuple maybe?
