I don't have a lot of time to argue about it but I'll give you one more post. If our limited minds can't understand god then why should we need god in the first place? I can appreciate the role that religion plays in a society, I'll even acknowledge that it may be a completely necessary role. However, at the end of the day it doesn't matter if you worship the sun, a person, animal, or some entirely imaginary entity. I am glad to live in a time when so many people can look at the theological experience that has evolved along with our species and say "there is no santa clause!" Religions emerge through fear of insignificance and fear of death. They survive if they provide some benefit to their host society, or at least if they don't cause their host society to die off. At some point however it could be advantageous for the host society to shed the religion, for example if the population is too high to be supported by the environment and the religion is one that prohibits birth control and encourages unchecked reproduction. They do of course adapt somewhat to suit the situation. Like when we need to cut down some other population and pillage thier resources, our religious leaders are very quick to tell us why it makes god happy. Nevermind that it directly contradicts the previously held values.

I'm sorry, I've change the argument from the existence of god to some ranting about religion. Just because I can't prove that when I close the refridgerator door the light doesn't come back on and little green saucermen don't come out and dance on my food, doesn't mean that they do exist. Similarly, the fact that I can't prove there's not an omnipotent, omniscient creator of some kind who happens for some reason to look like a hairless ape (how convenient), doesn't mean that he exists.

People who claim that god or jesus talks to them, or that thier god provides personal little magical interventions in violation of the laws of physics are just daffy.

I will personally squeeze the life out of anyone who claims that we'll get a new planet when jesus comes.

I voted Agnostic.

I believe that there was a creator either of the universe or of life on this planet. But that creator is no longer here. They may have just left, died, or perhaps they gave up their 'life' for the creation of all life.

Either way I don't personally believe that what ever did start life/the universe is still around. I find it plausible that the god that created the universe could have done so in a different universe, and that universe's big crunch led to our own's big bang.

I suppose we'll never know, unless there is an afterlife then whoops I guess ;)

PS. Wasn't there some town in England that screwed up census results when alot of them voted for Jedi as their religion?

I'm a Christian, but I'm not Catholic. I am non-denominational.
I'm a simple man who tries to follow Jesus.

Regardless whether you are atheist, nontheist, or agnostic you're gonna be classified "atheist". Get use to it if you live in a Christian dominated country.
