I think the DS has more potential for new and innovative games. Only time will tell, can't decide.

On name alone, the DS. Nintendo completely owns the handheld market. They took out systems that were better than the original gameboy. They know what they're doing.

Personally I consider the Zodiac a PDA due to the OS it runs, maybe I'm wrong

Maybe Nintendo dominates the handheld market at the moment, but don't forget they dominated the console market about 10 years ago too, now they are third behind Sony and Microsoft. Most people will agree aren't really focusing on the kind of market everyone on these forums is a part of. I bet the same thing happens with the DS vs. PSP, Sony makes a grown up handheld and all of the sudden Madden on your PSP via bluetooth will be the rage on college campuses across the nation.

Of course I don't have a clue whether PSP has bluetooth, but that'd be hot....

PSP to the best of my knowledge doesn't have bluetooth but it does have 802.11b.

Both will make use of 802.11 wireless technology. No bluetooth.

Also Nintendo has Wireless game SHARING!

"Wireless Game Sharing: If software developers desire, multiple players can compete in wireless games, even if only one person has a game card inserted. Players could also test-play games for themselves as long as they stayed connected."

and the DS has VOIP (at least they said so on slashdot)

it's too early to tell. BUT the DS is coming out in november and the psp... well, sony does a good job of hyping hardware long before they come out. i'm sure battery life is going to be better on the DS.

I don't have much need for dual screens on my computer, let alone a handheld gaming console.

The PSP appeals much more to me, especially in terms of industrial design and features. My main qualms are battery life and the lack of MP3/XVID support.

I don't know why Nintendo didn't create a high-powered single-screened device. Aren't the screens the most expensive components on these systems?
