gonna go see a movie with the gf tonight. which would be a better choice? from what i understand, both are pretty good movies.

Yet, it's not a romance movie at all. The tone of the movie was wholly disturbing and sad. The commercials were truly misleading but it was necessary.

I loved it, I got out feeling bit depressed.

Were it just you and/or some buds, I'd say go with Dead.

But, since you have your GF, go Sunshine. More sensitive, romantic, and likely to get you some booty later.

Unless of course you're one of those lucky guys who has a GF who likes movies like Dead or you want someone to cling to you in terror during various parts of the movie
