poll: which motherboard would you choose?

Hiya,

I'm looking for some opinions on the motherboards in the poll. I'm not going to do any gaming, only internet surfing and divx type movie watching. I'll be using the built in graphics on the mobo. I think I'm going with the sempron 2800+. Thanks.

I had the Gigabyte it's not a bad mobo if you're going micro-atx so I'd vote that one.. Why do you want to go micro-atx?

almost every 754 socket board with onboard graphics is mATX. It doesn't really matter to me which form factor it is. I ckecked newegg and they only one ATX board.

mATX isn't any better running wise, just smaller and will fit into a true mATX case - that's it. I really like mATX boards though because i rarely use more than 2 PCI slots.

I wouldn't go mATX.

Keep in mind that most AGP video cards kill the PCI slot next to it.

Also, my computers all have all PCI slots taken.

Last but not least 2 RAM slots basically don't allow you expansion without selling existing modules.

Yeah you are definitely a full ATX person 😉. One customer i built the Biostar mATX KM board to worried about that. I ordered him a 1GB dimm, that solved that. He got an Audigy 2 with 1394 (took care of firewire) and an ATI AIW X800XT. 1 300 gig HDD with partition magic to split it up for video storage. He really wanted things in a smaller case so needed the mATX. Basically he had everything you could want in a mATX case. TV recorder, great gaming machine, 1394 for the camera, nice sound, and it all ran perfectly in an Inwin case with 430W PSU with 17A on the 12v. No mac Truck battery needed lmao. Imo it was a smart way to go. I'm thinking of going that way myself next time with S939. I relalise its not for everyone.
