Poll:Which messenger?

Which instant messenger thingie do u use and why?
I have never installed or used such things but now thinking of getting
one for long distance communication...which one is the lowest resource hog,
compatible, bestest?!

I don't use any of them regularly. But when i do use one, it is AIM.

no, as it not working at all. when i d/l trillian a while back, file transfer wasn't supported. i'm guessing now it is supported. exactly how slow is "slow".

between 2 comps on my lan useing trillian i get about 800-1000k/s

useing AIM between teh same 2 comps i get 8 -10 megs/s

For a long time I was a devoted to using ICQ, but I slowly made the transition to AIM. I sometimes have my copy of ICQ running, but nobody ever messages me on it.
