I thought the 9600 was not released yet...odd

Also, never ever ever heard of Eurocom. I'd pick one of the large US mfgs if possible.

Good question! Added

again, if you want it for gaming, WHY a laptop??

1) Portable gaming
2) 15+ inch LCD's and the Radeon 9600 should be just fine for gaming shouldnt it? Also, so I can game on the road...ie...Work, road, airplane, at families and friends, at the park, at the beach, while fishing, portable pr0n for bedroom excitement, at concerts and movies, game at the bar.
3) The models I'm looking at are near-to-full desktop replacements.

Rock-solid Thinkpads, if affordable to you. Otherwise, Dell.

Dell Inspiron 8500 if you want gaming performance, because it has an optional Nvidia GeForceTM 4 4200 Go 64 MB video.

otherwise, get an old Dell Inspiron 8200, or your choice of an IBM.

Be sure to bring a long extension cord so you can hook it up to an outlet wherever you go. Most of these laptops are running regular desktop processors, they're going to eat your battery away.

if you're gonna get a PC laptop, IBM has the best quality and reliability. Dell used to be good, but they've recenlty been rated one of the lower end companies when it comes to laptops
