New ipods just came out (20 and 40 gig versions) so the now discontinued models (15 and 30) should drop in price. But they will sell out soon.

Definitely iPod but try to get the new one since it's better looking :) BTW, does anyone know if iPod is good for working out/jogging/skiing etc?

30GB is still $499 at Best Buy and Circuit City. It would be nice if they dropped in price.

The new iPods were just announced today so it might take a day or two for retailers to adjust their prices. also, you could go to the refurb section of apple.com and get a good deal too. All refurbished prodcuts are treated as "new" when it comes to warrenties and stuff like that.

The iPod has some issues for joggers/runners (I hear wearing it on an armband gets good results though) and assuming you don't fall on it and kill it the iPod is fine for skiing (a company made a limited edition ski jacket w/a built in pocket for the iPod and controls woven into the sleeve).

Looks like they are making 3rd gen in the 10GB version, so that's probably what I'll end up getting. I don't really need anything bigger than that.

Does anyone know if they make a car kit that uses FM? I do have a tape player still, but don't really want to deal with all the extra wires.

Edit:

Nevermind, I see belkin make an fm device for the ipod.
