HL2 appears to be a real game, whereas DNF appears to be some kind of moneymaking pyramid scheme. HL2 will be out within a year (and hopefully much sooner), but I frankly doubt DNF will EVER come out.

Nope I've seen DNF in working form. It does exist but its not complete and don't know how long it will ever take them. IMO its not even worthy of competing anymore because other games are so much further ahead while it stalled with old technology.

When did you see it? Was it more than one level? I was very excited about DNF at one time, but it's tough not to be cynical about a game that is now something like 5 years behind schedule. It seems to me that since Epic/3D Realms has continually upgraded the Unreal engine with the various generations of UT, the game could still be relevant upon its release.

It was real, but they've swapped out the engine at least once, and they seem to have major problems going the mile required to finish it. If it does come out it may very well be a daikatana. No, I'd say there is no point in holding out any faith for duke nukem ever coming out.

At least we KNOW doom3 will come out.

I was very impressed with the DNF video when it came out in '99 (?). Looked to me as though it had awesome gameplay. God alone knows what its current status its.
