I'm gonna buy my dad a electric razor as a late christmas present and was wondering which is better, rotary or screen? My brother has owned several and told me that in his experience Norelco's work best. My budget is less than $200.

Opinions?

btw: If it works well I'll probably buy one myself.

I've got a Panasonic Smooth Operator Wet/Dry and it's great, best of all, it's pretty cheap!!

I used a pretty expensive Philips rotating razor before with way less than optimal result... In my experience, the Braun flexible head razors are the very best.

Edit: I would aim for the $90-130 price range - more shouldn't be necessary at all...

I use a Remington and I love it. Like BlueScreenVW (cool name) says spend the money or your face will hate you.

Philips multihead shavers are best for me (after blade). Foil razors tear my face to pieces.

What makes you think he even wants one? I hate them. What does he use now? Is it worn out? Is it corded and he wants a cordless? Maybe the one he has now just needs a new set of blades. But, ugh... I don't know how anybody can even stand using one. Personally, I don't have the patience! (Not to mention, they do a crappy job of it!)

I just bought one of the Braun's Flex Clean & Charge, it's a nice razor, I can shave while I sit at my computer and read the morning news..

It's the fourth electric I've owned in 20+ years of shaving. The first was a Norelco, then a Braun (stolen at a hotel), then another Braun (destroyed by a pet parrot)

I never cut myself with an electric. I must admit, the panasonic wet/dry looks interesting, and so does their 'Linear' (high rpm) series and Norelco's Quadra.

Whatever you do, get a rechargeable..

I got a Remington Microscreen Intercept, and it works really well.
It's only the one with 2 "bumps" on it, but I think the ones with 3 look kinda stupid :)

I've had 3 Brauns and I loved them but decided to try out the Panasonic Wet/Dry.

I like the Braun's closeness but dry shaving got really irritating after a while.

I never realized how good the Panasonics were until after I had bought mine.

You can't beat shaving in the shower and 13,000 RPM.

Uh...well I'm the only one apparently, but I have the top of the line offering from Norelco, the 6885XL, and it rocks major a$$. Closest thing to using a blade, IMHO. I would buy it again in a second. You can clean it with tap water too, and it has an LCD screen, and all kindsa other neat features. My GF was very happy that I bought it =).
