About equally. I use the laptop when I'm on the couch to surf thanks to wireless, and for LAN gaming at peoples' houses. Desktop(s) for everything else.

Don't have a laptop yet. In fact, I wanted to get rid of my desktop and get a laptop instead as a desktop replacement (the so called desknote system) b/c desktop is bulky and ugly with all the cables, but then I realized I wouldn't benefit from the portability of a laptop or desknote since I won't be taking it out anyway, it would just stand on the desk and work with an AC adapter. Thus desktop is slightly better in this case I think.

I would use my laptop more if I hadn't been stupid to not look at the weight of it (damn desktop replacement class at 9 pounds :( ). Also the heat! And it's only a 1GHz P3.

Gonna probably get a Dell or IBM next tmie under 5 pounds with a Centrino.

ya me too. i bought a honking big one too, about 3 yrs ago. used it well. it now sits on my desk in my office with my 17" Dell LCD monitor and a Logitech MX Set. it is basically a desktop now.

My NEW and exciting toy, my Toshiba Tablet PC, now that is small and light. 12.1" screen but only like 2 lbs :)

it's sweet. :)
