Personally, I say the 80's - Depeche Mode, New Order, Madonna, Pet Shop Boys - anything new wave just sounds better than the crap playing today.

Haven't heard a whole lot of anything earlier than the 80s. That being said, I'd say the 60s or 90s.

60s....hands down.

Dylan, Beatles, Stones, The Who, The Kinks, Zeppelin, Hendrix, etc.

Artists that influenced about 99% of the artists around today.

I loved the 80's music, but there are songs I hear from the 70's that make me tear up sometimes because of the way they take me back to when I was a kid. You can't hardly beat the folksy feel of the music during that era.. it somehow just feels cleaner and more from the heart than the music the preceeded it in the 60's and synthesized beat of the 80's.

I voted 60's, although my favorite music spans the 60's and 70's. My favorite bands now are The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, The Who, AC/DC, and Fleetwood Mac.

80's. If you look at multiple genres, each and every genre in the 80's was great, from pop and Michael Jackson before he became a weirdo, to rock like Motley Crue and Warrant, heavy metal you had Metallica when they were at their best, etc.

I do like a LOT of music from the '80s, but it didn't have the depth that the '70s artists brought to their works. There were a lot of 'Concept' albums from the '70s. Just seems like a LOT better writing, talent and effort went into them:

Zeppelin was most influential in the 70s, so that's why I put the 70s down🙂 Overall, it's pretty damn close between the 70s and 60s in my mind, with the 90s running a bit behind and then the rest sorting out after that.

They were just continuing their music. I & II were released in the 60s and I'd bet a lot of III was written in '69, too.

I voted 90s, but the 60s we're pretty damn good, too.

I enjoy a lot of stuff now, but the same level of quality and experimentation in mainstream music doesn't seem to be there anymore.
