I'm in the market for a nice pair of casual boots and I can't make up my mind on which pair I like better so I thought I would ask you guys and see what you thought.
Keep in mind these two choices are a casual boot NOT a work boot. I will be wearing these out on a Friday night not to the ranch to rustle cattle. LOL

Anyway, the first choice is by Tecovas called the Doc.

Next up is a similar boot by Tony Lama called the Jinglebob.

I like the deeper blue and reduced lower texture of #1. I'm not a fan of cowboy boots though, and don't like wearing boots at all unless I'm working or need the extra protection of boots. For that, I like US issue combat boots.

I like the first pair better, particularly given where you'll be wearing them. The color of the lowers will go with lots of pants (you will be wearing pant right :p )

I'd love to have a pair. That said, I live and NH and 'cowboy boots' aren't in vogue unless you wear them to square dances and country music concerts, which we don't have a lot of.

I prefer the second pair. But, what is the point of these boots if you can't see the "boot" part? Will you be tucking in your pants to show the calf portion?

first one is classic. I like that better than the blue.
I had a pair of lucchese boots that were fantastic and i wore in my wedding that had the grainy leather in a mahogany color with a med blond upper and some neat stitching and inlays, dog got ahold of them. Wife has some beautiful one of a kind lucchese boots with mahogany color smooth leather, rope work going up the ankle like vines and teal piping.
I have a pair with ostrich leather on the bottom and simple and classy stitching that I love. In Colorado we love to wear cowboy boots out to events and weddings.
a properly fit pair of quality cowboy boots are very very comfortable and should be difficult to put on and remove. your feet should kinda pop into the heel. if cared for and used as we use ours, they should last a lifetime unless your dog gets them.

Do they wear cowboy boots downstate?
Honesty I'm not sure. A couple of years ago I really wanted a pair despite my wife making fun of me for it. I found a pair of cheapo Ariats that looked ok so I bought them. Turns out they are really comfy and I can pull off the look so now I want a nicer pair!:)

In the fall and winter I pair them with some Levi 527 boot cut jeans as everyday wear when we go out.

IMHO, colors like the blue are for women's boots. Or gays which is OK too.

I prefer tall tactical boots adapted with laced zippers. Really easy to put on and take off. Waterproof because central Jersey doesn't really get snow any more. We get mush.

The Ariat waterproof Chelsea boots for 200 are fantastic.

If you are going to wear them with jeans it seems like either pair your posted above will look very similar to the Ariats in that photo since you will only see the bottom part of the boot. I would order both and see which is more comfortable. Might also want to check to see whether either is waterproof just in case. I agree with everyone else in the poll that the Tecovas is better looking. More masculine.

Not a fan of cowboy boots...I have wide flintstone feet and the pointed toes make my toes hurt.
