and I can't find a picture of the other one... basically it's black...

so ultimately my decision is between getting a black bedframe or a dark brown bedframe. Most of the house is more on the contemporary-side. I was planning on making the bedroom more 'old fashionedish'... but eh..

oh and if anyone wants to know - that's from the 'malm' collection at ikea

Black always looks terrible for furniture. Brown wood is warm and pleasant. Why do you think plane cockpits are switching from black to beige?

hrm... can't tonight... have a date, actually... we just got back from ikea/dinner and whatnot. will take pics tomorrow though.

bed won't be in a corner or anything.. and will have bedside tables on each side. The walls in the room are a dark tan/orange/yellow color. Very hard to explain, but looks really good. I dunno how it will look w/ dark wood furniture though.

kind of like that, but less 'gold' and more 'tan'

I bought one of those a few months ago. Debated greatly on the color. Then it turned out that the only one they had in stock was "lt. oak" or whatever. Got it. It is completely covered up by the comforter & pillows anyway.

Good bed. A bit of a nuisance to put together, the metal rods support thingy on the bottom has stupid directions. But I got it eventually.

Warning, if you have the mattress on the "low" setting it's a b*tch to dig it out and change the sheets/make the bed. At least with my foam mattress.
